Memorable Things from the Weekend
I realized this weekend that I'm really beginning to slip with the blog articles. This isn't to say I've been neglecting the website. It's just that my focus has shifted to the Wine section. Besides, nobody reads my blogs anyway, so waddy do da. Regardless, I need to add something every once in a while, so here are a few things from my weekend that made an impression.
- We went to Fredericksburg and there was a sign in a store that read "What if the Hokey Pokey is what it's all about?" Makes you think, doesn't it?
- Got an email indicating that beating the ground with sticks while cursing used to be considered witchcraft. Today, we call it golf.
- Watched the 1938 winner of the Oscar for best picture "You Can't Take It With You" on Turner Classic Movies.
- Finally got to have a hamburger at the Alamo Springs Cafe (#2 in Texas Monthly's Best Hamburgers issue). I ordered it as is and it came with mayonnaise :-( . I'm telling ya, the world's gone to hell.
- Target shooting with handguns is fun.
