Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

Keeping with our current interest in Italian wines, we recently enjoyed a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano by Avignonesi. I was very surprised by this wine. Most of the Tuscan wines we've tried have been a bit crisp. But this had the delicate nature of a Pinot Noir. I don't know if this is a trait of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or just this particular producer and vintage. What I do know is that I'm going to try and discover which.
